Introduction to Design for Freedom - Members only

Webinar by Design for Freedom by Grace Farms
Course Description: Introduction to Design for Freedom
The Design for Freedom movement is harnessing the power of the built environment to uphold and support human rights and remove forced and child labor from the building materials supply chain. Three fundamental principles guide Design for Freedom. Find and address embedded forced labor, pursue ethical decarbonization, and prioritize circularity. The built environment continues to be heavily reliant on forced labor. We’ll explore the risks of this humanitarian crisis and highlight ways you can take action towards transparency. Learn about the tools and resources available to use in advocating for a more humane future. Course is approved for 1 AIA & SARA LU | HSW Credit.
Learning Objectives:
Inspire participants to engage in a human rights movement that is largely invisible in the AEC industry.
Define modern slavery and understand the many forms of forced labor.
Recognize the pervasiveness and risks of forced labor within the built environment.
Identify strategies for advocating for more material transparency in global supply chains
